For my cauldron design I first jumped off of a beginning idea of the sun and its
steadiness throughout time, and connected that as to how we as humanity can move forward
together. Thus coming up with a theme: “Move Beyond”. The adjectives “Gestural,
Timeless, Embracing, Sequential” were always followed throughout the iterations. The idea stems from movement, curbs that come from solar flares and everyday motion; and that
ties into the act of running , and the idea of moving itself. I found in my research the swoops
and clean curves from the bends and turns of a person running.
Natural but steady; Between motion and statue. My cauldron design mimics the
grandness and steadiness I want it to portray, while having a fluid and natural shape to bring
it back to the grandeur and symbol I needed it to be. The movement of the flame and
constant lighting of the whole shape swoop shows the sun spilling over us. Sculpted out of a timeless bronze, it's able to reflect the natural flame.

For the torch I decided to relay an idea reminiscent of a beam of sunlight given to us, providing the light. A Victory ribbon flowing in and around.
